題目:Asymmetric hydrogenation of ketones by chiral spiro catalysts

主講人簡(jiǎn)介:

周其林,有機(jī)化學(xué)家,中國(guó)科學(xué)院院士,南開(kāi)大學(xué)化學(xué)學(xué)院教授、博士生導(dǎo)師。

1982年,周其林從蘭州大學(xué)化學(xué)系畢業(yè)并考取中國(guó)科學(xué)院上海有機(jī)化學(xué)研究所研究生,并先后獲得碩士、博士學(xué)位;1987年博士畢業(yè)后先后在華東理工大學(xué)、德國(guó)馬克斯·普朗克研究所、瑞士巴塞爾大學(xué)和美國(guó)Trinity大學(xué)從事博士后研究;1996年回國(guó)后進(jìn)入華東理工大學(xué)精細(xì)化工研究所工作,擔(dān)任教授、博士生導(dǎo)師;1997年獲得國(guó)家杰出青年科學(xué)基金資助;1999年被教育部聘為特聘教授,并轉(zhuǎn)入南開(kāi)大學(xué)工作;2004年至2013年擔(dān)任南開(kāi)大學(xué)元素有機(jī)化學(xué)研究所所長(zhǎng)以及元素有機(jī)化學(xué)國(guó)家重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室主任;2009年當(dāng)選為中國(guó)科學(xué)院院士;2012年獲得首屆中國(guó)化學(xué)會(huì)手性化學(xué)獎(jiǎng);2013年擔(dān)任南開(kāi)大學(xué)化學(xué)學(xué)院院長(zhǎng);2018年獲得第三屆未來(lái)科學(xué)大獎(jiǎng)物質(zhì)科學(xué)獎(jiǎng);2019年獲得國(guó)家自然科學(xué)獎(jiǎng)一等獎(jiǎng)。

周其林院士主要從事不對(duì)稱催化合成方面的研究。涉及手性催化劑的結(jié)構(gòu)設(shè)計(jì)、催化劑合成、相應(yīng)的各種不對(duì)稱合成反應(yīng)研究和應(yīng)用這些手性催化劑合成手性藥物分子等。發(fā)展了一類全新的手性螺環(huán)配體,并以該類配體為基礎(chǔ)設(shè)計(jì)合成了一系列新型手性螺環(huán)催化劑。這些催化劑在不對(duì)稱催化氫化、碳-碳鍵和碳-雜原子鍵形成等一系列不對(duì)稱合成反應(yīng)中都表現(xiàn)出優(yōu)秀的催化活性和對(duì)映選擇性。研究成果已經(jīng)在手性藥物等合成中獲得應(yīng)用。

Brief Introduction of Professor Qi-Lin Zhou

Zhou Qilin is a distinguished organic chemist, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the College of Chemistry, Nankai University. He graduated from the Department of Chemistry at Lanzhou University in 1982 and pursued graduate studies at the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he earned both his master’s and doctoral degrees. After completing his PhD in 1987, he conducted postdoctoral research at East China University of Science and Technology, the Max Planck Institute in Germany, the University of Basel in Switzerland, and Trinity University in the United States. Upon his return to China in 1996, he joined the Institute of Fine Chemicals at East China University of Science and Technology as a professor and doctoral supervisor. In 1997, he received the National Outstanding Young Scientist Fund; two years later, he was appointed a distinguished professor by the Ministry of Education and subsequently moved to Nankai University. Between 2004 and 2013, he served as Director of both the Institute of Elemental Organic Chemistry and the State Key Laboratory of Elemental Organic Chemistry at Nankai University. His accolades include election to the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009, the inaugural Chinese Chemical Society Chiral Chemistry Award in 2012, the Third Future Science Award in Material Science in 2018, and the first prize in China's State Natural Science Award in 2019.

Prof Zhou’s research centers on asymmetric catalysis, with a focus on the design and synthesis of chiral catalysts. His work involves developing novel chiral spiro ligands, which have served as the basis for a series of innovative chiral spiro catalysts. These catalysts exhibit excellent reactivity and enantioselectivity in asymmetric hydrogenation as well as in the formation of carbon–carbon and carbon–heteroatom bonds. His contributions have been successfully applied to the synthesis of chiral pharmaceutical compounds.
